Credit Counseling Certificate

Beginning March 10, 2008 all individual debtors must have creditor counseling and file the certificate with the clerk.

 

 

Credit Counseling is to be completed for each individual debtor and joint debtor by an approved credit counseling agency during the 180-day period ending on the date of filing the petition.

 

A list of approved credit counseling services are available on the court’s public web site www.mssb.uscourts.gov.  A Certificate of Credit Counseling is required at the time of filing of the petition for all individual debtors.   If a joint case, both debtor's are required to file a credit counseling.  Both certificates may be attached when docketing the following event.
