Certified Mail Instructions for Clerk's Office

Purpose:

Ensure funds are obligated prior to sending Certified Mail.

 

There is no method to procure certified mail in the Gulfport Office therefore certified mail sent by the Clerk's Office must be processed and completed by the Jackson Office.

Process:

Send email to the Financial Administrator requesting certified mail service.  

  • Email must specify the type of service.  E.g. Certified mail only or Certified Mail and Return Receipt Requested

 Complete front and back of U.S. Postal Form 3811 and attach to the back of the envelope.

Complete US Postal Form 3800 and attach over the top of envelope to the right of the return address..

 

 

 

3.

Upon approval to obligate funds, a Contracting Officer will obligate a purchase order and take the certified mail to the post office.
