As a unit of the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Mississippi, the Bankruptcy Court observes the
District Court's policy on possession of electronic devices in our
federal courthouses:
Unless otherwise ordered by a presiding judge of this Court for
a specific proceeding, cell phones are not allowed in the
courthouses of this District, unless they are in the possession of
an employee of this Court, another tenant of the courthouse or a
party, attorney, or the attorney's support staff who is directly
involved in litigation currently being conducted in this Court.
Unless otherwise ordered by a presiding judge of this Court for
a specific proceeding, other electronic devices capable of
recording, photographing, or broadcasting court proceedings are not
allowed in the courthouses of this District.
The Court does not have a secured area in which these devices
can be stored.
